Everyone knows the Danish are famous for their pastries. Try Scandinavian Trends' delicious Aebleskiver recipe!


  • 1 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 Cups Buttermilk
  • 1 Large Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 2 Seperated Eggs
  • 1 Cup Oil for Frying
  • *Requires an Aebleskiver pan. Mix flour, salt, sugar, buttermilk, and two egg yolks together. Beat the egg whites stiff. Gently fold them into the mixture. Put 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil into each cup of the Aebleskiver pan. Heat until hot. Fill each cup with 2 tablespoons of batter. When the Aebleskivers become bubbly around the edge, turn quickly over with a fork. Continue cooking and turning the ball until uniformly crisp.

    Dip Aebleskivers in powdered sugar and serve with strawberry jam or maple syrup. A real Scandinavian tradition!
